General Notes: According to D. Wayne & Gerry Metz: Charles Metz was a fireman, then engineer for the United Railroads of New Jersey, which becale the Pennsylvania Railroad, and was last assigned the New York-Philadelphia run.Was injured in two wrecks, one of which caused scalding of his lower limbs, from which he recovered. He retired in 1914, after 48 years, 6 months of service. Noted events in his life were: • Occupation: Railroad Civil Engineer. • Immigration, 1853. • Baptism: Francis Xaver, 2 Sep 1846. Charles married Louise Mary Pinot, daughter of Claude Pinot and Catherine Marguerite Parrot. (Louise Mary Pinot was born on 4 Jan 1849 in Newark, Essex, NJ and died on 26 Mar 1926 in Newark, Essex, NJ.) |
