Obituary of:
Emily N O'Dell, a retired treasurer for the city of New Rochelle, died Thursday at home in New Rochelle. She was 85.
Mrs. O'Dell was born Nov. 5, 1909, in Yonkers to Edward and Beatrice Greenhalgh Newman. She grew up in New Rochelle and graduated from New Rochelle High School. She also was educated at the Westchester Business Institute in New Rochelle.
On June 27, 1942, she and Delancey T. O'Dell were married in New Rochelle.
Mrs. O'Dell worked in the Finance Department for the city of New Rochelle for 39 years, serving her final years as city treasurer. She retired in 1971.
"She was a very lovely, businesslike individual, very profesional," said Mary Louise Sullivan, assistant city clerk.
Mrs. O'Dell was a parishioner at the Presbyterian Church of New Rochelle.
She is survived by her husband of New Rochelle.
