Matteo Lepree Previously Lepore

According to Matthew John Lepree: 1864 Matteo Lepore (LePree) born is Foggia, Province of Puglia (at that time a part of Sicily -- southern Italy) Came to USA at age 22 in 1886 -- changed in name of LePree may have happened in Ellis Island { This is a recallection as Ellis Island did not open until 1902 and Castle Garden at the NYC Battery Park was the point of arrival in 1886} Married Maddalana Cerci (who was born 3/24/1873 in SanCroce near Campobasso) She was a widow with a 16 month old son Vincent James. They married 12/20/1893. I 1920 they moved from Brockton, MA to Nutley, NJ. With five hundred dollars borrowed from his brother Joseph, Matteo built the building at 152 Franklin Ave., Nutley, NJ.

Matteo married Maddalana Cerci. (Maddalana Cerci was born on 24 Mar 1873 in San Croce, Italy.)
